Vermont Ranks Second for Best Place to Find a Job in WalletHub Study

Vermont comes in at #2 in WalletHub’s ranking of the best states to find a job in 2022.  Washington state is ranked #1. Following Vermont in third is New England neighbor New Hampshire.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 35 key indicators of job-market strength, opportunity and a healthy economy. Their data set ranges from employment growth to median annual income to average commute time.

Among the key metrics, Vermont ranked 4th in job opportunities, 4th in employment growth and 4th in Job Satisfaction.  The state tied for second with Oregon and Rhode Island, and tied for first with several other states for lowest unemployment rate.  Rating much lower is the ranking median annual income at 46.

WalletHub says its report is designed to help people narrow their search on where to look for work. “Since that part requires a bit of research, WalletHub did the homework to help you focus on the most important task: finding your dream position in a place you’ll love.”
