We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Assembly Technician with the potential to become Full-time!
The primary responsibilities of this position include the production assembly of optical and mechanical components for light management and light source products, as well as supporting operations, e.g. final test, in-process inspection, quality control.
We are seeking candidates with excellent workmanship skills, attention to detail, and a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Validate incoming materials from suppliers
- Assemble and test sub-assemblies and final product per assembly instructions and test procedures
- Record production data as requested, e.g. quantity produced/unit time, time to perform tasks, etc.
- Maintain documentation of assembly data including scrap, rework performed, build failures etc.
- Train new personnel on all aspects of the production build including assembly, test, process efficiency strategies, and quality considerations
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to contribute to:
- Continuous improvement of production processes
- Development and improvement of procedures and tools
- Root cause and corrective action processes for assembled product and supply chain issues
- Assist in inventory counts and inventory tracking activities as requested
- Package final product for shelf and shipping
- Distribute received materials and supplies to correct stock locations
- Comply with all manufacturing and quality procedures
- Continuously maintain a high regard for quality; identify and communicate potential quality issues and work with manufacturing and production to properly disposition them
- Work with diligence to meet established production schedules and goals; communicate issues and risks to supervisor and participate in identifying strategies to overcome challenges
- Maintain organized inventory of components and assemblies per procedures and practices
- Understanding of basic electrical circuit principles; ability to read and understand electrical drawings such as wiring schematics and circuit board assemblies.
- Aptitude for mechanical assembly; familiarity with required tools including jigs and fixturing, hand tools and presses. Some experience with automated equipment a plus.
- Understanding of handling requirements in production environment; specific experience with circuit boards and optical assemblies a bonus i.e. care and cleanliness of components, ESD
