Business Applications Manager

Responsibilities
- Manages a team of software application support professionals to effectively oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications, from selection and implementation to maintenance and upgrades.
- Manage performance of direct reports, including but not limited to performance management and task assignments, coaching and work directly with management to set departmental goals; take leadership and ownership of goals to achieve desired results
- Evaluates new business applications, makes recommendations to the business, and manages key vendor relationships.
- Ensuring that different enterprise applications communicate effectively with each other, streamlining processes, and improving data flow across departments.
- Regularly assesses the performance of enterprise applications, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing optimization strategies.
- Provides support to end-users, resolving issues related to applications, and conducting training sessions to ensure users are proficient in utilizing the software.
- Collaborates with other business departments to understand business needs and develops long-term strategies for application management and enhancements.
- Leads projects related to the deployment and integration of new applications or major updates, including coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Ensures that enterprise applications meet security standards and comply with relevant regulations and organizational policies.
- Assist Director of Technology Solutions in managing the budget for enterprise applications, including forecasting expenses and ensuring cost-efficiency.
- Mentors’ application support team members to develop and grow technical skillsets
- Monitors and manages internal cloud infrastructure (Sysops) and provides recommendations back to Engineering teams
- Assess cost of cloud systems and provides recommendations
- Establishes deadlines, develops goals, and tracks performance metrics for the department.
- 5 years’ experience managing people
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, and HRM systems. Familiarity with integration platforms and middleware is also crucial
- Maintains up-to-date extensive and deep knowledge of cloud products, technology and best practices
- Strong ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to handle application-related projects effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Aptitude for identifying problems quickly and developing effective solutions.
- Skills in managing relationships with application vendors, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and service levels.
- Understanding of business processes and how enterprise applications can enhance operational efficiency and contribute to strategic goals.
- Strong leadership qualities to manage teams, motivate staff, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Must comply with and pass initial background check and drug screening, as well as subsequent background checks, drug screenings and vaccine requirements as required by customer contracts.
