The University of Vermont is hiring a Wireless Network Engineer.
Provide high-level design, trouble shooting and management functions for the University wireless network. Responsibilities include providing problem resolution for applications which run over the wireless University network, as well as the Internet. This position will primarily configure, troubleshoot and maintain the UVM wireless network, with secondary responsibility for switches and routers as well as basic knowledge of firewalls and VPN services. In addition to IPv4 network addressing, IPv6 is heavily used in our wireless environment and on campus requiring a proficient knowledge. Experience with network performance monitoring, and debugging tools, 802.1x, SAML, Radius authentication 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax are highly desirable as well as familiarity with firewalls, network intrusion detection, EIGRP, BGP and network and server virtualization.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience.
4 years experience in an enterprise wireless network.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with design and troubleshooting tools such as Ekahau preferred.
