This position will coordinate and carry out all outreach and support for the Maintenance Technician Program, a partnership between the Vermont State University (VTSU) and GlobalFoundries-Essex Junction GlobalFoundries (GF). Responsibilities will include oversight of the federal award deliverables, budget management, outreach, advertising, recruiting new students for the
program, and other administrative tasks, including applicant support, reporting, and data management(Vermont Tech Campus).

This federal grant award begins December 1, 2023, and ends November 30, 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Represent the VTSU’s GF Maintenance Technician program at high schools, tech centers, career/job fairs, special events, and the like to recruit for specific GF positions under this federal award.
• Manage day-to-day operations. This may include but is not limited to, managing course logistic needs, program enrollment management, phone, email, and referral inquiries.
• In conjunction with the internal GF Program Coordinators and the appropriate VTSU departments, coordinate and advertise the program to a broad audience in various formats (print, social media, events, flyers, etc.).
• Plan, coordinate, and carry out non-instructional advising, reporting, on-the-job training hours (OJT) oversight, and data collection/management.
• Schedule and travel for outreach activities throughout Vermont, especially in the Essex, Burlington, St. Albans, Middlebury, Montpelier, and Enosburg areas.
• Serve as liaison between new prospects and the internal GF program coordinators, VTSU departments, and the CWPE.                  • Conduct applicant prescreen interviews and proctor Accuplacer, integral to the GF Maintenance Technician Apprentice application process.
• Create an inventory of refresher offerings for GF Apprentice applicants who require review before Accuplacer testing or program admittance.
• Confer regularly with the VTSU’s Faculty Coordinator of External Programs, GF management, faculty, staff, and alums to plan, coordinate, evaluate special recruitment activities, exchange information, resolve problems, etc.
• Prepare, analyze, and summarize recruitment reports and Accuplacer results to keep the GF management, CWPE Coordinator of External Programs, and the CWPE Project Manager informed.
• In alignment with VTSU and CWPE policies, develop processes to ensure exceptional customer service experience for all parties.
• Monitor the CDS budget and all expenditures.
• Maintain student information in appropriate VTSU, GF, and state reporting systems.
• Work outside of regular business hours will be required on occasion.
• As an active member of the CWPE team, attend and participate in meetings, retreats, and other events as requested and required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

General supervision is received from the assigned supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or appropriate discipline plus 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management, retention, recruitment, engineering, grant management, or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

• Understanding higher education, manufacturing, grant reporting, budgeting, placement testing, and state reporting systems.

• Excellent computer application skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Colleague and Slate experience are desired.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong data and reporting skills.
• Planning, administrative, and organizational skills.
• Public speaking and customer service abilities.
• Excellent oral/written communication.

Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to support a diverse community and promote

• Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state as necessary.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement is provided).

Location:
This position will be based on the Williston Campus, with remote opportunities available. Work outside traditional business hours and extensive travel throughout the state is expected.
