Posting Summary
As a servant leader, provide complex, strategic HR guidance to university business and academic leaders in coordination with embedded business HR teammates. Act as advocate for employees and management and support accountability. Meet regularly with units to understand their needs; respond with resources and guidance to support unit goals. Assist unit leadership with situations that arise throughout the employee life cycle. Hold grievance meetings and assist in drafting grievance responses. Provide administrative supervision to at least 5 HR Partners.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and five to six years’ experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner. Experience in a unionized environment. Supervisory experience required. Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team of HR Partners. Working knowledge of employment laws required. Effective written and verbal communications, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Demonstrated success working with a range of culturally and ethnically diverse populations and evidence of commitment of fostering a collaborative multicultural environment. SPHR/PHR certification or willingness to obtain required.
Desirable Qualifications
7 years experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner.
