Overview

Our Strategic Analytics Team is seeking a Data Quality Engineer with strong technical experience working across many data formats and sources to achieve scalable excellence in analytics and data science. In this role, you will work on talented, cross-functional and collaborative teams to develop and implement innovative data quality solutions and build relationships with our partner agencies and business stakeholders.

This is a hybrid position in our Burlington, VT office.

Responsibilities

Data quality monitoring and alerting:

  • Leverage data driven approach to identify critical metrics for quality monitoring
  • Optimize efforts for data governance by maximizing quality across key data assets
  • Identify outages and bugs and work with data stakeholders to implement appropriate fixes
  • Investigate data issues and coordinate solutions
  • Investigate anomalies and perform root cause analysis for anomalies

Data asset development and maintenance:

  • Help to maintain and process business logic and identify opportunities to streamline & optimize that logic
  • Create/maintain data dictionary for new and existing data assets

Data governance:

  • Reconcile metric definitions and business logic across multiple sources
  • Develop and manage culture of data governance and quality
  • Review client outputs for data quality, logical consistency
  • Document workflows and data governance standards

Data contracts:

  • Managing agency and internal stakeholder relationships
  • Establishing contracts to clarify cadence, structure/format and expected values for data

Web Analytics:

  • Coordinate adherence to BRD/ SDR workflows
  • Validate changes to tracking implementation
  • Create/ maintain key lookup tables/ logic for curated tables

Required Education and Skills

  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related area or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in data quality analysis
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • 1 year Python experience
  • Experience multitasking and prioritizing data initiatives
  • Experience with self-directed prioritization
  • Experience with version control software (i.e. Git or other)

Additional desired skills

  • Understanding of database structure and working knowledge of dbt
  • Experience with AWS data warehousing
  • Experience with web analytics platforms (i.e. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
  • Experience with marketing data, e-commerce data
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Data visualization experience
  • Understanding of basic statistics
