Vermont Attorney General’s Office Hosting Data Privacy Forums

The Vermont Attorney General’s Office is hosting a series of forums this fall focused on data privacy that can be attended in person or online.

Topics will include:

  • Protection of biometric data, including facial recognition
  • Whether Vermont should adopt all or parts of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • Consumer protections that address the privacy concerns of Vermonters

 The forums will be held on the following dates and locations:

Tuesday, October 5, 4 p.m., 108 Cherry St., Conference Room 2B, Burlington

Tuesday, October 26, 5 p.m., 109 State St., Pavilion Auditorium, Montpelier

Thursday, November 18, 12 p.m. ,Hartford Municipal Building, Room 2, 171 Bridge Street, White River Junction

Attendance at all three forums will be designed as a hybrid model with participation available both remotely and in person. Remote participation will use a Teams format. To attend remotely, please e-mail [email protected] to RSVP and obtain a Teams link.

At the conclusion of the forums, the Attorney General’s Office intends to compile a report to the Legislature sometime in December.

Participating in the forums is open to the general public.
