Vermont Attorney General’s Office Hosting Data Privacy Forums

The Vermont Attorney General’s Office is hosting a series of forums this fall focused on data privacy that can be attended in person or online.

Topics will include:

  • Protection of biometric data, including facial recognition
  • Whether Vermont should adopt all or parts of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • Consumer protections that address the privacy concerns of Vermonters

The forums will be held on the following dates and locations:

Tuesday, October 5, 4 p.m., 108 Cherry St., Conference Room 2B, Burlington

Tuesday, October 26, 5 p.m., 109 State St., Pavilion Auditorium, Montpelier

Thursday, November 18, afternoon, time and location TBA, White River Junction

Attendance at all three forums will be designed as a hybrid model with participation available both remotely and in person. Remote participation will use a Teams format. To attend remotely, please e-mail [email protected] to RSVP and obtain a Teams link.

At the conclusion of the forums, the Attorney General’s Office intends to compile a report to the Legislature sometime in December.

Participating in the forums is open to the general public.
