This position is remote/work from home however you need to reside near Burlington, VT; Mission, KS; Dallas, TX or the Draper, UT offices

Dealer Software Solutions, a Cox Automotive Group, is currently hiring a Trainer to join our training team supporting & VinSolutions team members.

The Trainer is responsible for the delivery of learning and development solutions that maximize the effectiveness of Cox Automotive professionals, drive revenue optimization and increase the skill sets of Team Members within their assigned team. Training delivery will include a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, classroom facilitation, virtual classroom, and webinars.  This individual supports all teams across Cox Automotive that support & VinSolutions products and services, with a heavy focus on new hire training.

The Trainer is an excellent communicator who is proficient in both individual and group coaching and training methods. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented and an excellent problem solver.  The ability to diagnose issues and propose creative solutions is essential.


Training Development and Delivery

  • Deliver training courses in both individual and group settings, as well as through webinars and various distance learning techniques. Course topics include, but are not limited to, products and services, job-specific skills, use of third party vendor solutions (Salesforce, phone systems, etc), and process.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of training materials by providing feedback to the Instructional Design team on activities and/or content as to relevance, success in the classroom and potential e- learning opportunities.
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge and expertise of & VinSolutions processes, reporting, and customer service techniques

 Training Effectiveness

  • Utilize knowledge checks throughout training delivery, and communicate with leadership about how the trainees are receiving and retaining knowledge
  • Maintain product knowledge related to newly released and/or enhanced products, services and initiatives
  • Maintain an understanding of current industry trends, competitive information, etc. and transfer knowledge to training audience
  • Consult with business partners on performance issues and the implications for training and development, informing their manager of needs/requests
  • Build relationships that allow for on-going collaborative interactions that help identify learning gaps and potential solutions

Travel up to 10% may be necessary


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Strong preference for Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or Education AND 3+ years related work experience required
  • Prefer 3+ years’ experience in corporate training, classroom teaching or instructional design
  • Priority consideration will go to internal candidates with a solid understanding of Cox Automotive Dealer Software Solutions sites, packages and solutions
  • Intermediate knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Ability to identify and adapt to the needs of training audience
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite to include Outlook,
  • Expert use of GoTo Meeting, Microsoft Teams or similar virtual tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Dynamic presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Proven experience presenting information, classroom instruction and sales training methods
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative to proactively complete assignments
  • Ability to travel occasionally (est. 10%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training certification or current teaching certification
  • Classroom training and facilitation skills strongly preferred
