The University of Vermont is interested in hiring a Technology Business Development and Licensing Officer.
Reporting to the Director of UVM Innovations the Technology Business Development and Licensing Officer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and positioning for commercial opportunities, a portfolio of interdisciplinary research and inventions with a focus on life sciences in various stages of development at UVM. They will develop business development and licensing strategies, draft and negotiate license terms and conditions while promoting UVM’s long-term relationship with industry. Increase intellectual property and technology commercialization awareness within the UVM community and promote opportunities for commercialization of UVM intellectual property with potential external collaborators and licensees.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences and a minimum of five – six years related business development and/or licensing experience required.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering or related field. Experience in a technology transfer office and/or industry licensing role.
