Competitive Computing seeks a  Systems Engineer – Networking to join our expanding team. The Systems Engineer will provide remote and onsite support and management for our small, medium and enterprise clients. In addition, the candidate will also deliver complex technical components of a given project from initial assessment to final implementation.  The ideal candidate is a Cisco networking engineer who is comfortable at the command line but also has general experience administering Windows Server/Workstations operating systems.  CCNA Certification is a huge plus.
  • Provide technical support to clients from a mix of remote,  our offices in Colchester, VT as well as at our clients’ sites as needed
  • Administer and manage client environments to ensure stability, security and performance leveraging remote monitoring and management tools
  • Troubleshoot incidents and manager resolution to completion
  • Primary role is networking support.  Will also work with senior networking engineers to perform project work (hardware upgrades, network audits, LAN/WAN design)
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of Windows operating systems
  • Adhere to and innovate processes and procedures to improve service delivery
  • Provide superb customer service and long-term relationships with clients

  • Demonstrate professionalism and client satisfaction
  • Work independently and anticipate client and team member’s needs
  • Maintain proficiency in current technologies
Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field  or extensive related field experience
  • Conversant in industry standards and methodologies
  • 5+ years Cisco command line configuration and administration of LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • 2+ years Windows operating system administration
  • Self-starter to own, diagnose, and resolve technical problems
  • Ability to deploy batches of PC’s in adherence of a master roll out schedule
  • Conversant in latest technologies, willingness to learn new solutions and technologies
  • Well organized, works collaboratively and with attention to detail
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment requiring multi-tasking and time management in constantly changing technical environments
  • Confident yet willing to seek advice from teammates or vendor partners
