C2 is seeking an information technology professional to join the Software Development Practice.  The Development Manager manages and directs the work of engineers to ensure the best practice around software development.  This role manages and oversees the design and development of software applications, eCommerce, and custom development implementations.
The Software Development Manager is responsible for the management of 5 or more direct reports of Consulting Software Developers/technologists including recruiting, hiring, and training.
Responsibilities:

  • Mentor team members in technical consulting, software development skills, and leadership responsibilities
  • Guide team members’ professional development and grow their careers
  • Developing and institutionalizing software development/technical best practices
  • Responsible for setting department-wide technical direction and strategy – defining tool/platforms/technologies the team will focus on and deliver to clients
  • Collaborate with client sponsors and stakeholder to define scope and deliverables
  • Assemble team resources, produce project plans, identify risks, and contingency plans
  • Accurate and timely IT delivery planning, metrics reporting, including scrum metrics, and related financial tracking
  • Actively participate in billable client delivery work
  • Work with sales team on scoping, qualifying and estimating opportunities, and SOW (Statement of Work) generation
  • Collaborate with Software Development Practice Manager on yearly budget planning for the team (training needs/expenses/hiring needs) as well as defining target strategies
Qualifications:

  • Five or more years working in software development
  • Experience in leading software development teams and projects
  • Professional services/consulting experience
  • Solid understanding of Software Development delivery methodologies, including Agile/Scrum
  • Experience implementing one/more of the following:
    • eCommerce Implementations
    • Content Management System Implementations
    • Cloud Migration
    • Business Process Automation development
    • SaaS Development Models
    • PCI and OWASP security practices
    • UI/UX design
  • Experience with Microsoft software development technologies (& MS Office Suite)
  • Bachelor’s degree with technology emphasis (e.g. CS, MIS, IT) or equivalent experience
  • The following is desirable:
    • Certified Scrum Master and/or experience as a Scrum Master
