This position at Symquest is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the document solution shop team.  This position will work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure that the productivity and output of this group remains at an above average level.  This is a working manager role and in addition to managing the team, the individual will continue to setup equipment and perform other tasks as necessary in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Manage team of in-house shop technicians who are responsible for the set-up of new and used/rental multi-functional output products, printers and faxes.

• Manage delivery of proactive and superior equipment maintenance services to clients in a geographic region through an assigned team of service and shop technicians to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

• Achieve established team performance standards for service excellence and productivity.

• Subject matter expert regarding troubleshooting and reconditioning of used equipment for rental and resale.

• Develop and maintain personal technical skills.

• Work with Director of Operations to coordinate development plans for new hires and existing employees.  Monitor, track and communicate the daily/weekly/monthly team goals.

People Managed:  This position will be directly responsible for the shop technicians within the Operations Team.  Responsibilities to include:  recruiting, developing and technically supporting employees, planning assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 4 years related technical experience and/or training; at least 1 year supervisory experience preferred.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use manual dexterity to grasp hand tools and to install large and small parts. The employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
