Experience: 5 - 10 Years

  • Works with the turbomachinery engineering design and development group and the design/CAD department for the design of advanced turbomachinery components such as pumps, turbines, or compressors at Concepts NREC.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work alongside design engineers (aero and structural) and CAD personnel to design new advanced turbomachinery components and modify existing designs.
  • Support the effort to conceptualize new machinery and machine components to meet design requirements.
  • Support sales and marketing to identify and pursue opportunities for product and/or research activities.
  • Help establish efforts for developing improved design practices.
  • Check drawings and drawing changes prepared by others.
  • Assist CAD Manager with workflow planning for engineering projects, working with the appropriate project and technical managers.
  • Recommend appropriate materials, manufacturing methods, and assembly procedures.
  • Work directly with engineering, CAD, and manufacturing personnel.
  • May oversee work of other Mechanical Design Engineers and assist in work scheduling and planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:    

  • Education: B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of mechanical design experience, turbomachinery strongly preferred. Knowledge of CAD standards, including GTD, is required. Experience with both 2D and 3D mechanical design, specifically Solidworks for 3D is beneficial. ProE knowledge a plus. Supervisory experience beneficial.
