Senior Backend Developer

Bluehouse Group is growing and looking for a Senior Backend Developer to support a variety of clients!

Responsibilities include:

Craft high quality technical solutions built to last years
Build sites and applications using a TALL stack (Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, Livewire) and similar PHP-based technologies
Design and maintain database architecture
Database administration
Configure and update servers and manage deployments
Implement security best practices
Research, vet, and apply emerging technologies
Investigate, resolve, and explain gnarly technical problems

What kinds of problems are we solving? Some of our current projects include:

Redeveloping a staff and volunteer portal for a large nationally-recognized nonprofit
Overhauling a complex in-app messaging system
Creating and expanding features for a company-owned subscription-based product
Scaling a package booking flow for a successful sport tour booking company

Strong candidates will have:

4+ years of professional software-development experience
Demonstrated competence and confidence with web development frameworks (Laravel, Ruby, Next.js etc.)
Expertise in database architecture, including RDBMS such as MySQL
Confidence working in Unix/Linux environments
Experience with server provisioning, configuration, updating, and orchestration
Working knowledge of source control systems including Git and Github repository managements
Knowledge of quality assurance approaches
