Job Overview
NOMAD is seeking an experienced and ambitious Sales Application Engineer with a strong track record and genuine passion for sales and innovation and providing customers with technical application solutions. As Sales Engineer you will be able to articulate the value of NOMAD’s products and services and effectively align product offerings with customer needs. This role is pivotal in effectively communicating technical information to customers and helping to develop and maintain relationships to build trust.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge and understanding of NOMAD’s product and services’ technical features, functionalities and benefits.
- Work with the sales team to understand customer needs, pain points and business challenges to create customized sales proposals.
- Facilitate and organize product demonstrations to showcase key features and functionalities to address technical questions and concerns from customers.
- Provide pre-sales support by answering technical inquiries and participating in sales meetings.
- Work with the engineering team to address technical concerns or requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical requirements and ensure the successful implementation of solutions.
- Provide post-sales support to customers, including technical troubleshooting and customer training to ensure satisfaction with NOMAD’s products and services.
- Give active feedback and insights from the market to the engineering and marketing teams.
- Participate in trade shows and events to promote NOMAD products.
- Stay up to date on industry standards, market dynamics and competitor offerings.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify sales opportunities.
- Contribute to sales strategies and contract negotiations based on technical considerations.
Qualifications
- A degree in engineering is preferred, with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical or software engineering.
- 3+ years of experience as a sales engineer or similar technical sales role.
- Proven track record of selling complex technical solutions.
- Strong technical background and ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to identify customer needs and propose solutions.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
- Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
