The Esntial eCommerce Team at Cox Automotive (Dealer.com) is looking for people who are excited to reimagine the way people buy and sell vehicles online and who want to harness the power of data and advanced analytics to rapidly bring clients in line with that vision.
The Business Intelligence Tools Manager manages a collaborative team of Reporting Developers who interface with boundary partners across Sales, Marketing and Business Operations to define and deliver world class data visualizations and advanced analytics tools to support our growing performance management capabilities. As the Reporting Manager you will establish and drive the vision and delivery of industry differentiated tools that will power our Performance Management Group and Clients to diagnose friction points in their eCommerce business and focus their efforts on improvement. You will have the opportunity to shape and elevate the way that users approach continual improvement in a highly visible and fast paced environment. This position reports to the Director of eCommerce Analytics and has direct reports.
The ideal candidate will be located in the Eastern or Central time zone.
Job Duties:
- Lead a best-in-class data visualization and tooling team within the Esntial Analytics Practice, focusing on how the Program unlocks value from data driven monitoring dashboards, diagnostic reporting and advanced analytics tools fit for a wide array of business users.
- Own and develop a vision and roadmap for how our data products are used, working with a team of Report Developers and Data Engineers to deliver incrementally, with a bias for speed to market.
- Create and manage a collaboration framework to solicit input from our customers who are comprised of clients and internal boundary partners to identify high value business use cases to target with on-going monitoring, diagnostic and advanced analytics tools and prioritize against the existing roadmap.
- Lead the core team through planning activities to identify scope for sprints; identify opportunities to validate solution options through prototypes and MVPs to test and learn quickly so we can double down on best that will go well and course correct where appropriate.
- Communicate clearly defined and achievable goals to our customer base and internal stakeholders, negotiating trade-offs and adjusting scope as needed to hit major milestones.
- Lead all feature release quality assurance efforts and routines, ensuring that all Analytics tools and associated data are accurate, timely and usable.
- Ensure that customers realize the full value of our platform by working collaboratively with Product Marketing, Training and Support to create release communications, self-guided training content and support processes to maximum reach and adoption.
- Build, edit, and manage product backlog understanding the contributive value of each feature, the level of effort, risk, and opportunity costs.
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Data Engineering to align on data requirements and data roadmap to ensure data is accurate and usable by the business.
Required Experience & Specialized Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years experience in data products or digital analytics consulting with a focus on creation of data products. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience in a related field; or 10 years experience in a related field
- 1+ year of experience in management or lead role
- Experience in building and managing data-enabled capabilities and solutions such as monitoring dashboards, diagnostic tools, forecasting tools and advanced statistical models.
- Deep experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools such as MS PowerBI, Tableau, Microstrategy, and similar.
- Experience building platforms or integrating operational and data systems, particularly data systems the deal with streaming data or large-scale data aggregation.
- Experience analyzing user metrics data and performance trends to develop insights and influence capability direction.
- Experience identifying significant opportunities, and driving capability vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals.
- Experience going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into offering requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch execution.
- Must have experience leading teams using an Agile Scrum Framework with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred: Preference give to users who have demonstrated coaching staff with positive results.
- Expertise in areas such as MarTech, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), reporting and analytics, email marketing, and segmentation.
- Expert in Tableau and/or Microstrategy.
