Instrumart has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, entry-level Purchasing Agent I to join our team. The Purchasing Department works hand in hand with Instrumart’s Sales Engineering and Customer Service Teams to provide our customers with a world-class order experience from their initial phone call, to receiving the order on their loading dock. This position is involved with all aspects of the purchasing process; therefore, timeliness and attention to detail are of utmost importance. Our small team of 5 people is responsible for the material movement of over $70.0M of product per year! Placing orders, expediting orders, updating order status, and shipment tracking are all primary responsibilities of this position.

Primary Job Duties

 

  • Create, review, approve, and send Purchase Orders to vendors
  • Track all orders placed with vendors and update the status according to the information provided
  • Attach and rename all documents, including  Order Confirmations, received from vendors onto the appropriate NetSuite record
  • Contact vendors (by phone or email) whenever necessary to expedite, cancel, check the status, or amend a PO
  • Use UPS, FedEx, and LTL information to attach tracking numbers to the orders and follow through with any issues that may arise
  • Collaborate with Order Management team members to resolve any problems, such as delays that affect our customer’s satisfaction

  • Excellent time & workload management skills
  • Aptitude and comfort with various computer applications, as the majority of your time will be spent working in NetSuite, Instrumart’s business management software
  • Service orientation- actively seeking to enhance Instrumart’s customer experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills to ensure clear interactions across all departments at Instrumart, and comfort speaking with external vendor contacts

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar business management software
  • Experience with sharing a workload while working as part of a team

 

The starting salary for this position is $48,500 – $55,000, commensurate with experience.
