We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the lifecycle management of our enterprise advanced connectivity and managed services portfolio. The person in this role will have a strong knowledge of telecom managed services and providers, a demonstrated understanding of the competitive MSP marketplace, and an awareness and curiosity of what’s next for the managed services industry. This person will drive the evolution of the managed services product lines, guiding cross functional teams through design, pricing, and packaging managed services to drive higher product attachment rates. This person will work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure a go-to-market plan that achieves take rate and revenue objectives and adds value to the FirstLight Fiber portfolio.

The ideal candidate seeks the opportunity to spend time in the market to understand customers’ and prospects’ needs and challenges and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You must be able to communicate at all levels within the Company. You will define product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external product evangelist, working with other departments, sales channels and key customers to maximize adoption of the services.


  • Oversee the product line life cycle and ensure product profitability for advanced connectivity and managed services.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on FirstLight’s service capabilities, planned enhancements, positioning in the marketplace and current availability.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market and competitive research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospects.
  • Develop business cases to support new features/enhancements including costs and projected revenue for new services and enhancements.
  • Define and deliver service packaging strategies that meet or beat competitor value propositions, working internally within FirstLight Fiber and with 3rd party partners.
  • Develop and maintain product pricing.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly identify product challenges and pivot accordingly.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and identify gaps and opportunities within the FirstLight service offering.
  • Lead internal and external sales and customer product training.
  • Must be able to travel to customer meetings as well as attend industry/company events.
  • Any other projects assigned by management.


Candidate must have experience in technological areas like managed SD-WAN, managed security, backup & recovery, and other similar advanced services. Ideal candidates must be self-motivated with a proven track record in product development and management within a telecommunications service or managed services provider environment. Comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization developing solutions tailored to market and customers’ needs. Must possess strong presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to all levels within an organization, including C-level management.  Must be able to communicate effectively in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Candidates must be well organized and analytical. At least 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager successfully managing a set of communications services required.  A solid understanding of the competitive landscape is essential.

Education and/or Experience:

B.S. or B.A. in a technical or business field preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, you should have strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook. Experience building business models will contribute to success. A working knowledge of Salesforce is a benefit.
