The Material Handler at NRG is responsible for the following main functions: kitting components for assembly, conducting inventory transactions and transfers, analyzing and resolving inventory discrepancies, and other responsibilities related to inventory control. This position will be primarily responsible for cycle counting the inventory in the manufacturing environment. This person will be part of a fast-paced team that focuses on impeccable accuracy while meeting deadlines.

The Material Handler is a full-time position reporting to the Production Manager. This person will work in partnership with their team to achieve goals that are in line with the company’s strategic plan. They will also embrace the high standards of NRG ethics and core values.

    • Generate quick and long MOs to allocate inventory (Manufacturing Orders)
    • Periodically cycle count all inventory and reconcile discrepancies
    • Pick parts to be sent to some suppliers
    • Run inventory transfers and adjustments in Business Central (ERP System)
    • Perform transfer transactions with inventory in Business Central
    • Process Non-Conforming Records (NCR)
    • Create new part numbers and manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system
    • Troubleshoot errors with manufacturing Bill Of Materials
    • Work with accounting on any inventory discrepancy
    • Execute any PPV cost adjustments on inventory
    • Ship material to domestic suppliers using UPS Worldship and/or work with the export team
    • Work on gathering obsolete parts and disposing of them properly

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Work on projects generating continuous improvement as part of NRG’s Lean Manufacturing philosophy
  • Execute set objectives on a timely basis
  • Carry out any reasonable duties assigned by manager as required
  • Document and maintain functional areas instructions and guidelines
  • Help other Logistical areas as time allows

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or 2 years logistics/relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Short-duration lifting of 50 pounds and moderate-duration lifting of 35 pounds
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Attention to detail with excellent accuracy
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize on a continual basis
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, databases, and other office applications as required including:
    • Business Central
    • UPS WorldShip
  • Work primarily performed in a climate controlled warehouse environment
  • Must comply with Health and Safety Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
