Concepts NREC
As a member of our dynamic team and after a period of investment and training, our machinists prove out, trouble shoot, and run CNC programs following detailed processes with limited supervision. They utilize hand-held metrology and other measurement equipment to verify setups and part dimensions and to interpret blueprints and CNC programs as needed to manufacture mid-to-high complexity aerospace, automotive, industrial, power generation, and rocketry hardware.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
- Setup and operate mills and/or lathes according to supplied processes and programs.
- Prove out new programs and processes under the direction of Senior Machinists & Programmers.
- Verify product quality using inspection devices such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, routers, and CNC programs.
- Responsible for accurate record keeping of dimensions.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and adhering to all safety policies and guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Proficiency with CNC equipment, Heidenhein controls, blueprint reading, shop math skills, and the use of quality control measuring devices and gauges is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
- Abilities: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during the workday and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a safe manner. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

- Ability to determine the work holding/fixturing methods and follow detailed work instructions and processes. Ensure that machine function and output meet specifications.
- Proven ability to read and accurately interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, sketches, tooling, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters to correctly interpret and apply GD&T notations.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining parameters such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depths & angles of cut.
- Ability to setup fixtures, tooling, & workpieces in accordance with verbal and written instructions.
- Aptitude and ability to operate 5-axis mills and/or CNC lathes making adjustments as needed to achieve tight tolerances in a wide variety of materials including aluminum, steel, titanium, & Inconel.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications and accurately complete all inspection documentation.
