To accomplish this efficiently and consistently, we have created a Hardware Automation Suite, which is tasked with supporting our bleeding-edge product line. As a Technical Architect for our internal Hardware Automation Suite, you are the expert who will design the next generation system to allow us to reach new milestones – speed improvements, breaking boundaries with new hardware, complex customer requests, and more. You’re driven by creating scalable solutions for non-standard problems and breaking through barriers that would intimidate most other people. On an average day, you’ll…

  • Research our manufacturing process, product line, and internal stakeholders to understand what problems we are solving today, and will need to solve in the future.
  • Share your deep knowledge of “where software and hardware meet” with team members who are working with a higher or lower level of system development.
  • Research existing tools and technologies to help make decisions on build vs. buy.
  • Design and communicate high level architectural designs to the Business Analyst and answer any questions that come up as they define more detailed requirements.
  • Help meet production goals related to takt time by creating the most efficient OS boot and image creation procedures.
  • Collaborate with our Hardware Test team to implement beginning-to-end test procedures.
  • Collaborate with our Infrastructure team to design and implement scalable, robust IoT solutions.

Our Engineering team creates our cutting edge industrial computers by finding innovative solutions on a daily basis. The Engineering team’s success relies on collaboration, creative thinking and a commitment to being at the forefront of technology. Roles on our Engineering team include, Electrical, Mechanical, Applications and Regulatory.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have 6+ years of experience with architecting technical solutions.
  • You have working knowledge of Linux including: application development, scripting, basic administration, kernel interfaces, and embedded/minimal environments.
  • You have knowledge of standard boot process (UEFI and Legacy/CSM) and supporting bootloader technologies (GRUB, iPXE, etc.).
  • You have experience with Python and/or additional Unix scripting languages (bash, ksh, csh, etc.).
