NRG Systems is looking for a Global Trad Associate

Manage equipment positioning (trailers, containers, trucks, etc.) based on production and order

fulfillment schedule(s).

Prepare documentation for outgoing international shipments (presented to customs, brokers, and

freight forwarders).

Submit electronic Shipper’s Export Declaration to US Dept. of Commerce for int’l orders $2500+.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities in export methodologies; identify cost savings

wherever possible.

Approve carrier invoices before payment and dispute unexpected, additional charges as they arise.

Monitor freight industry pricing and determine how best to keep NRG’s costs to a minimum.

Provide tracking details and/or forward original documents to customers or brokers as needed.

Coordinates delivery of goods between NRG customers and carriers in extraordinary circumstances.

Document and maintain functional areas instructions and guidelines.

Main point of contact for sales and customers for any shipping inquiries.

Prepare commercial invoices and detailed packing lists for shipments.

Redirect or respond to general email inquiries from internal and external customers.

 

Other Duties:

Coordinate supplier returns with NRG Logistics Group.

Work with NRG Marketing and NRG Sales on Trade Show shipments by establishing deadlines for

freight to be turned over to NRG Logistics for shipping.

Work on projects generating continuous improvement recommendations as part of NRG’s Lean

philosophy.

Execute and manage Non-Conforming Records (NCRs) to notify suppliers of damage.

Update Customer web portals with delivery information periodically.

Initiate Great Plains End of Day routine daily after shipping transactions are completed.

 

Qualifications

International export experience preferred

Minimum of 1-3 years Logistics coordination experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team

Demonstrated working knowledge of:

o U.S Department of Commerce regulations on importing and exporting freight

o The use of Carnets for the temporary import of goods to foreign countries

o Proper packing techniques for all types of shipping (single package, skid mounted, crated)

o NAFTA Determinations

o Working knowledge of import/export laws

 

Mathematical aptitude

Attention to detail with excellent accuracy

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Forklift certification will be required

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and other office applications as required including:

o Adobe

o Great Plains eEnterprise a plus

o AES PC-Link (Electronic SED Software)

o Global Wizard (Export Software)

o Mozilla Firefox (used for Con-way.com, Fedex.com)

o Internet Explorer (used for DHL.com)

 

Primary work performed in a climate controlled office environment.

Primarily duties performed in a seated position.

Some work performed in warehouse environment

Must comply with Health and Safety Requirements

Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
