Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) at the University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking a Business Manager to provide administrative oversight and management of the business affairs of the division including financial, human resource, and planning needs and division-wide business policies, practices, and communications. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Planning & Engagement, the ETS Business Manager, the ETS Business Manager provides high-level analytical support in a wide range of areas. Lead administrative project management activities. Prioritize and/or resolve complex issues and problems related to the executive task level of the office, using discretion relative to the confidential nature of assignments. Draft correspondence and other documents ranging from routine to complex. Complete research, data analysis, and prepare related documentation and presentations both independently and in partnership with others. Coordinate resource allocation and personnel activities between Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) leadership team and the Administrative Business Services Center (ABSC).
|Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)||
Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience working in confidential advisory capacity to senior level executive staffs. Background in personnel, finance and administrative functions. Effective organizational, project management, data analysis & documentation skills and ability to operate in a complex environment required. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Writing and research skills, with the ability to disseminate and communicate complex and sensitive subject matter. Effective interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal communication to maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues, including change management experience.
Active participation in creative problem solving.
Practical time management skills.
Ability to adapt to multiple tasks and requests as well as the ability to change gears quickly and accept doing a variety of activities as part of the role.
Proficiency in the use of business technologies and Microsoft productivity applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Experience in Higher Education desirable.
