At Howard Center, the Employee and Labor Relations Specialist supports labor functions and day-to-day employee & labor relations, including investigations and act as a resource to staff in interpretation of policies, procedures, labor laws, and collective bargaining agreements. Work to ensure positive relations within the agency and with our union partners, with customer service being a top priority.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to Labor & Employee Relations Manager
  • Conduct thorough investigations and reporting of employee & labor relations issues and complaints
  • Support supervisors with the progressive discipline process and administration of agency policies, procedures¬†and collective bargaining agreements
  • ADA administration
  • Coordinate ongoing revisions and annual update process of the agency Personnel Manual

Requirements:

  • A combination of three years’ experience within the function of Human Resources, (preferably in union environment) and education
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High level of discretion & confidentiality
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws
