As a full-time member of the Operations Team based out of our South Burlington, VT OnLogic office, the person in this position will identify, drive, and manage the implementation of continuous improvement projects and process related changes on a global scale, while utilizing Lean concepts and tools. In addition, this individual will assist in developing long term strategies, including personnel development, to instill a continuous improvement culture throughout the business. This Director will facilitate standardization, stability, and simplification in our business processes, and define and achieve strategic objectives, which include quality, on time delivery, cost reduction, and efficiency. 

On an average day, you’ll…

  • Establish pertinent goals with departments and monitor for progress
  • Engage with leadership team to identify, set, and achieve process improvement goals utilizing Lean initiatives
  • Provide education and mentoring to employees on Lean principles and techniques
  • Facilitate and lead the continuous improvement process by identifying needs and providing training in problem solving methodology, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping, etc.
  • Monitor activity level of continuous improvement teams and team champions, alerting management of additional support needed to achieve desired results
  • Model operational excellence, visibly demonstrating leadership/change management behaviors

Our Operations team is responsible for building, testing, packaging, and shipping OnLogic technology around the world. Their tireless attention to detail, and commitment to quality lets us boast about how reliable and configurable our systems are. Members of the Operations team cross-train on multiple disciplines to provide us with unparalleled staffing flexibility and the capability to react to any production demand. Always living up the way we work through continuous improvement and process optimization, Operations is where project plans and technical specifications become a reality. Roles on the Operations team include computer production, hardware testing, fulfillment services, supply chain management, product and process quality, production engineering, and technical support.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 10+ years related experience and/or training
  • Proven knowledge of Lean processes and methodologies within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using Value Stream Mapping, facilitating Kaizen events, and utilizing Lean tools and processes such as: continuous flow (production & material), pull systems, TQM and 5S practices
  • Experience with project management, including developing project plans, coordinating projects, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and within budget, and managing project team activities
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listening and seeking clarification, responding well to questions, participating in meetings, and presenting numerical data effectively
  • Expertise in working well with others, by balancing team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectivity and openness to others’ views, building morale and group commitments to goals and objectives while supporting everyone’s efforts to succeed
  • Understanding of Change Management, communicating changes effectively, building commitment and overcoming resistance, preparing and supporting those affected by change
  • Experience managing global sites is a plus
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
