The University of Vermont is seeking a Capital Asset Accountant.
Administer cost accounting areas of asset management, insurance costing and cost allocations for the Facilities and Administrative (F&A) rates. Advise University personnel on federal cost accounting and property standards. Verify and record movable equipment assets in compliance with Uniform Guidance requirements. Ensure federal compliance of capital lease activities, administer operational processes to ensure asset management data integrity, monitor and validate annual University space and equipment inventory in compliance with University policies and model/ distribute costs associated with risk-based insurance policies, and develop/provide reports to support costing projects and process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and one to three years related experience required. Knowledge of capitalization/depreciation standards and property standards required. Proficiency in software applications and databases required.
Desirable Qualifications
Cost accounting or accounting in a university setting. Proficiency in using PeopleSoft Financials, asset management software, and federal costing principles highly desirable.
