As a Buyer, you are a key member of the Supply Chain Team within Global Operations. You’re responsible for purchasing and material flow with a focus on meeting customer demand expectations. You have the ability to manage supplier purchase orders/delivery schedules, product costs, supplier relationships, and optimizing inventory levels. You will be a full-time team member located in our South Burlington Vermont Location and support US and EU purchasing responsibilities.

On an average day, you’ll …

  • Plan: Identify all key data points including sales orders, order points, forecasts, and material availability in order to purchase, optimize material flow, meet customer expectations, and on time delivery.
  • Execute: Place purchase orders and fulfill internal requests daily. You will review purchase requirement reports and manage the material delivery schedule. You will understand the supply chain strategy to help drive the optimal balance of supply and demand. You will manage logistics from the supplier to the OnLogic production facilities.
  • Monitor: Material demand for specified suppliers and incoming shipment management. You will monitor the schedule and make adjustments based on customer and supplier schedule changes.
  • Control: Support important key account projects and improve key performance indicators (inventory levels, customer on time delivery, slow moving products, and supplier on time delivery). Negotiate with suppliers in order to drive optimal cost and service.
  • Others: Manage all purchasing activities to support new product development inventory planning. Understand the stages of the development process and purchase the inventory for the builds
  • Manage supplier relationships locally and in the EU to maintain/improve product prices and ensure timely shipments and delivery.
  • Have a growth mindset and continuously look for ways to improve quality in all processes.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Logistics or related field or have equivalent experience to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
  • You have 1-3 years of purchasing/supply chain experience.
  • An affinity with computer hardware is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of and experience with using ERP systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, etc.), (MRP and DDMRP) related to procurement; you understand supplier capacity planning and how to build a material delivery schedule based on customer order and inventory stocking level requirements.
  • You understand Sales and Operations Planning and how to interpret the outputs as it relates to purchasing and procurement.
  • You pay attention to detail and exhibit a strong focus on quality.
  • You are organized with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • You manage time well in an environment with shifting priorities.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you are a team player.
  • You are able to pick up new processes quickly and efficiently, and you hold yourself and others accountable.
