Business Unit Sales Manager – Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • At Concepts NREC the successful Engineering Sales Manager will be driven, customer-focused, and technically savvy in the field of turbomachinery. The individual will be responsible for qualifying business opportunities and helping to develop sales proposals for our Engineering Services business unit. The position requires an engineering background as well as highly developed sales skills and experience.  This candidate needs to be energetic, outgoing, proactive, creative, and have attention-to-detail with outstanding selling and networking skills.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hunt for and initiate contact with potential customers to generate and qualify leads, promote the company’s products and services, and identify sales opportunities.
  • Work with prospects to fully understand their needs and in some cases develop an engineering services plan to address their needs.
  • Work with inside-sales staff as well as Engineering staff to develop proposals.
  • Move qualified leads through the sales funnel, negotiating directly with clients to close sales.
  • Plan sales activities in close collaboration with the Director of Engineering and the Director of Sales & Marketing including yearly and quarterly sales plans and goals.
  • Outside sales and business development is required and will necessitate domestic and occasional international travel to visit customers, trade shows, conferences, and other sales related events.
  • Assist with review of press releases, advertisements, sales literature, and related marketing materials as it relates to the Engineering business unit sales.
  • Various strategic planning, forecasting, marketing, and other related tasks as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: A four-year engineering degree from an accredited institution, or a related technical degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Five years of relevant technical experience in the turbomachinery industry (compressors, fans, blowers, turbines, gas turbines, or related equipment). Experience writing technical proposals is highly desirable.

  • Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. To be successful, you must organize and balance your activities appropriately (prospecting, selling, and account management) to create results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot or other CRM software.
  • A broad-based technical foundation with a solid basis in business fundamentals.
  • An energetic, proactive, career-oriented approach with the desire and ability to advance within Concepts NREC.

Basic Qualifications

  • A four-year engineering degree from an accredited institution.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • A broad-based technical foundation with a solid basis in business fundamentals.
