Who You Are

This Partnerships Director role will lead and manage THINKMD’s efforts to develop philanthropic partnerships in support of our ambitious scaling goals. You’ll join a dynamic and scrappy commercial team committed to THINKMD’s mission and improving access to healthcare around the world. We’re creative and curious in our approach, constantly looking for novel ways to partner and bring our products to market. You will be exposed to all aspects of the company and will be expected to engage across our teams to bring opportunities and partnerships to fruition. We attract self-directed team players who can see the larger picture while executing on the discrete tasks that make big goals achievable.

As Partnerships Director, your primary role will be to help drive new and innovative funding partnerships with foundations, institutions, and corporations in collaboration with other THINKMD teams and implementation partners. You will develop and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities, build and scale the process for sourcing opportunities, and manage the completion of concept notes and full proposals. You are highly organized, a strong verbal and written communicator, and both solutions and detail oriented.

The Partnerships Director will serve as a key member of THINKMD’s Business Development team and bring a depth of experience navigating philanthropic donors in the global health and/or international development space. This role requires prior experience, established sector relationships and a track record of developing innovative philanthropic partnerships. A history of success in grant and proposal writing will be critical.

In this role you will:

  • Analyze the philanthropic market to establish ideal target funding and programmatic partners for THINKMD

  • Conduct outreach, foster and build on your existing network and establish new relationships and partnerships

  • Establish and grow a pipeline of partnerships for THINKMD and manage deals from initial inquiry to close; opportunities may include implementation projects, funding, and technical or research initiatives

  • Identify, pursue and acquire promising opportunities through direct client engagement, crafting proposals and grant application submissions

  • Collaborate across the wider THINKMD team; help serve as the voice of partners and funders



Your Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience developing innovative philanthropic partnerships with public and private partners

  • Deep knowledge of the philanthropic marketplace, as well as an existing network and proven track record of shepherding seven-figure plus partnerships to fruition

  • Background, passion and strong existing networks in and understanding of global health and/or international development Outstanding writing ability with a track record of developing well-crafted LOIs and proposals and working across teams and with partner organizations to frame proposed projects in a compelling fashion

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with exceptional capability to communicate and build relationships across cultural, ethnic, and geographic boundaries

  • Experience living and working overseas in low and middle-income countries (LMICs)

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software
