Reporting to the Director of University of Vermont Innovations, the Technology Business Development and Licensing Officer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and positioning for exploitation, a portfolio of interdisciplinary inventions with a focus on physical sciences and engineering in various stages of development, tangible research properties, and copyright materials developed at UVM. Will develop business development and licensing strategies, draft and negotiate license terms and conditions while promoting UVM’s long-term relationship with industry. Increase intellectual property and technology commercialization awareness within the UVM community and promote opportunities for commercialization of UVM intellectual property with potential external collaborators and licensees.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics or chemistry and a minimum of five – six years related business development and/or licensing experience required.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering or related field desired. Experience in a technology transfer office and/or industry licensing role highly desirable.
