Dealer.com, a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Consumer Data Sets team in Burlington, Vermont or Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Overview

As a Software Engineering intern, on the CDS team you would be working with an multi skilled Agile team that designs, develops, tests, deploys, integrates, and supports robust and scalable data products. You will be a pivotal member on an Agile team, working alongside developers and technical leads on a team where collaborative programing and mentoring is regularly practiced.

  • Languages: Scala, Java, Spark, Akka, Kafka, Javascript
  • Other: Git, Jenkins, New Relic, Kubernetes

Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Work in Agile Delivery team participating in all meetings and ceremonies
  • Collaborating closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to
  • Planning and estimating development tasks with other developers that are required to fulfill a story
  • Contributing to solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems
  • Perform data analysis, coding, testing, integration and maintenance of applications
  • Perform trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary

  • Working towards a bachelors or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work within a dynamic team committed to excellence
  • Proficient programming, unit and system testing skills
  • Ability to synthesize information quickly at a high level and makes decisions in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to pay strong attention to detail, and collaborate and function effectively in a team environment and independently on complex problems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, curiosity and hunger to learn new technologies

What We Look For (Preferred)

  • Rising Senior or 2nd year Graduate Student
  • Experience in analysis, design and programming
  • Proficient programming, unit and system testing skills for all levels of complexity within multiple technology stacks
  • Knowledgeable about Agile principles and Scrum methodology
