Let’s Tech Together: An Introduction to Broad-Based Employee Ownership for Tech and Other Businesses

In this brief VTTA “Let’s Tech Together” talk, Matthew Cropp, Executive Director of the Vermont Employee Ownership Center, will cover the basics of broad-based employee ownership from Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) to worker cooperatives and more. It will also include Nick Floersch of VTTA member Stone Environmental sharing about his company’s experience with employee ownership. This free virtual event will feature an introduction and overview of what common employee ownership structures are, how they work, and how a business owner can exit their business to employee ownership. The session will include ample time for questions and discussion.

The Vermont Employee Ownership Center is a statewide non-profit that works to promote and foster broad-based employee ownership of Vermont companies. It provides educational resources, support to companies pursuing a conversion to employee ownership, and brings the state’s employee-owned companies together for professional development and networking through its annual conference, peer groups, and other activities.
